25 hours per week, 5 out of 7 per week. Shifts: 07:00 - 12:00, 08:00 - 13:00, 09:00 - 14:00 & 11:00 - 16:00. £12.71 per hour.

Job Description:

Are you professional, security-conscious, and confident communicating with people at all levels? We are looking for a reliable and proactive Chaperone Operative to join our team at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth. In this important role, you will support the safe movement of visitors and deliveries throughout the Naval Base while ensuring the highest standards of security, professionalism, and customer service are maintained at all times.

What you'll do:

  • Escorting visitors and deliveries safely within the Naval Base
  • Greeting visitors in a friendly and professional manner and guiding them to the correct location
  • Completing chaperone processes accurately using company systems
  • Maintaining the highest levels of site security and reporting any concerns immediately
  • Building strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and client representatives
  • Attending team briefs, meetings, and training sessions as required
  • Ensuring all duties are carried out in line with Sodexo policies, procedures, and site regulations
  • Maintaining excellent standards of appearance, hygiene, and professionalism
  • Reporting accidents, near misses, incidents, or faulty equipment promptly
  • Supporting the wider team with additional reasonable tasks as required

What you bring:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Computer literate
  • Driving is required for this position. For insurance purposes, you must be over 25 and hold a Full UK Driving License
  • Due to security requirements, you must have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 5 years to apply for this position

  • Previous experience working within a military environment
  • Experience in an administrative role
