About the role:
As a Cook in a café or digital food operation, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and cooking pre-ordered meals, ensuring consistency, presentation, and food safety standards are met. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations while supporting a modern, technology-driven service model.
What you'll do:
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of food items in line with recipe cards and cooking methods.
- Manage and fulfil all orders.
- Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately to meet service time targets.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, and ensure proper storage following food safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures.
- Minimise food waste and control portion sizes to maintain cost efficiency.
- Assist with deliveries, checking quality and storing stock correctly.
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance issues promptly.
What we're looking for:
Essential:
- Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
- One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): BSc (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ Level 2 or 3.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a military environment.
- IOSH qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
