We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Kitchen Assistant to support our catering team in delivering a high-quality food service in our new digital offer food outlet, offering a takeaway service for all personnel at RAF Brize Norton, Carterton.
Day to day you will be supporting the chef, performing essential food preparation from wraps to pizzas and with our new state of the art ovens, whilst maintaining strict hygiene standards. Working in a fast-paced environment, customer service is key. A friendly, professional demeanour, attentive listening and quick resolution of issues with a proactive approach to exceeding customer expectations to ensure the digital café runs efficiently with food safety and amazing customer experience at the forefront.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in line with hygiene and safety standards.
- Serve pre-ordered food and drinks to customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces at all times.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks adhering to strict recipe cards and production methods.
- Ensure all utensils, dishes, and equipment are washed and stored correctly.
- Follow food safety regulations, including proper storage and handling of food items.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
- Assist with deliveries, including unpacking and storing supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer queries or requests.
- Adhere to company policies, health & safety regulations, and cleanliness standards.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a similar role within the service industry.

- Experience working within a military environment.
- Level 1 Food Safety, HSWA, and COSHH certificates.
