We are seeking a skilled and motivated Catering Chef / Cook to join our team at Sodexo, RAF Brize Norton, Carterton (OX18 3LX). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving high‑quality food in line with company processes, systems and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve food in line with approved recipes, menu cycles, and company standards.
- Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, portion control, and food safety at all times.
- Monitor and record food waste and temperatures in line with compliance requirements.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
- Use digital systems effectively to support service delivery.
- Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and handling food items.
- Complete opening, closing, and handover procedures as required.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Attend required training, meetings, and briefings.
- Report hazards, incidents, or equipment faults promptly.
- Work across all areas of the site as directed by management.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
- One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): BSc (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ Level 2 or 3.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working within a military environment.
- IOSH qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in a customer‑facing role.
- CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
