As a Chef, you'll be responsible for supporting kitchen operations and preparing meals for patients, staff, and visitors. You'll ensure food is produced to the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene while contributing to a positive dining experience. Working closely with the Head Chef and Hotel Services Manager, you'll also assist with kitchen administration, stock control, and maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with recipes, production schedules, and food standards.
  • Support the delivery of food services across patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure all food is produced safely, hygienically, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Maintain stock control, rotation, and storage procedures.
  • Assist with menu planning, ordering, and receiving deliveries.
  • Prepare special dietary meals as required.
  • Support meal service and ensure excellent presentation at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Complete all audit and quality documentation as required.
  • Support training and supervision of junior team members.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar chef role.
  • Strong culinary and food presentation skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Financial awareness and understanding of stock control.
  • City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 (or equivalent).
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Diet Cook's Certificate.
