About the Role

We are looking for x 3 detail-oriented and experienced Clerk of Works to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality, compliance, and performance of works delivered on site across a range of construction projects. You will be responsible for providing technical oversight and assurance, ensuring that all systems, materials, and workmanship meet the required standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Functionality: Verify that installed systems operate as designed and meet specification requirements.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Review designs and installations to ensure long‑term maintainability and compliance.
  • Workmanship & Finishing: Inspect quality of workmanship and finishes to ensure durability and high standards.
  • Materials & Equipment: Ensure all materials and equipment are approved, compliant, and correctly installed.
  • Commissioning & Testing: Witness and assure commissioning, testing, and certification processes.
  • Safety & Compliance: Monitor adherence to health & safety standards, including CDM Regulations and site procedures.
  • Defect Management: Identify, record, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.

You will also:

  • Review contractor method statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
  • Support risk management through early identification of technical and quality risks.
  • Provide technical advice and produce assurance reports for clients and project teams.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to quality assurance.

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a construction‑related discipline (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, Building) – desirable.
  • Alternatively, a relevant trade background with significant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations.

Experience

  • Proven experience within construction, property, or maintenance environments.
  • Strong background in reviewing technical drawings, designs, and specifications.
  • Conducting site inspections and technical audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in defect identification, analysis, and resolution.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance across building, mechanical, and electrical works.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, testing, and handover processes.
  • Experience in technical reporting, documentation, and record keeping.
  • Understanding of risk management and mitigation.
  • Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders on complex projects.
