Sodexo is proud to partner with Mars to deliver critical site services, and we are seeking a highly capable Cleaning Manager to lead and develop cleaning operations within this fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

The Role

The Cleaning Manager will be responsible for the effective delivery of cleaning services in line with contractual requirements and performance standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a focus on continuous improvement to ensure service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Cleaning Supervisors and operatives, ensuring all areas are maintained to the required standards
  • Oversee recruitment, induction, training and ongoing performance management, including appraisals and regular team briefings
  • Manage the cleaning budget, monitoring labour, consumables and materials to ensure cost control and efficiency savings
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations through regular audits, reporting performance to senior stakeholders and the client
  • Maintain and promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation including COSHH
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with the client, supporting service delivery and identifying opportunities for improvement and growth
  • Monitor service performance against KPIs, driving continuous improvement across all cleaning operations

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams within a cleaning or facilities management environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance standards, including COSHH
  • Experience working in a highly regulated, standards-driven environment
  • Ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing improvements
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and deploy resources efficiently

Desirable:

  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification
  • BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Science) certification
  • Experience managing client relationships in a service-led environment
  • Aware of quality management systems (e.g. ISO standards)
