Job Introduction
Are you an experienced Asset Surveyor with a strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering high quality technical data? We’re looking for a proactive and professional individual to join our growing Asset Management team supporting a major UK Government contract. As part of a nationwide estate of approximately 700 sites, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate asset verification and condition surveys across a diverse portfolio of properties. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high profile environment where your expertise will directly support compliance, operational performance, and long term asset planning.
What you’ll do:
- Working closely with the Technical & Asset Manager and wider contract teams, you’ll undertake detailed building fabric and M&E surveys, ensuring asset data is accurate, auditable, and aligned with contractual standards.
- You’ll help maintain reliable asset registers and provide clear technical reporting to support informed maintenance and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver asset verification and condition surveys across varied property types and complex estates
- Assess building fabric and M&E systems, applying consistent condition grading and risk assessment methodologies
- Verify and update asset information within CAFM and asset management systems
- Produce accurate, concise survey reports highlighting risks, defects, and priority actions
- Support quality assurance audits and data validation exercises
- Provide technical advice relating to asset condition and compliance risks
- Liaise effectively with clients, FM providers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate survey activity
- Support continuous improvement and innovation within the wider Property Professional Services team
What you bring:
Qualifications & Memberships
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, IAM or similar) or working towards chartership desirable
Experience
- Proven experience carrying out asset verification and condition surveys
- Strong practical knowledge of building fabric and M&E systems
- Experience working across large or complex estates preferred
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Strong reporting and technical communication skills
- Competent using CAFM systems, digital survey tools, and MS Excel
- Able to work independently in a fast paced field environment
- Organised, collaborative, and customer focused
