The Education Administrator at HMP & YOI Bronzefield plays a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of education, qualifications, and prisoner progression within the establishment. Working closely with the Education Manager and wider prison departments, the postholder ensures accurate recording of learner data, allocation to purposeful activity, and effective administration of all learning and skills processes. The role is central to maintaining high standards of data accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency within the Education and Skills function.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately input and maintain qualification, attendance, and learner data on prison and national systems, including Curious and other databases.
- Allocate prisoners to education and work placements, ensuring effective use of available programmes and resources.
- Produce weekly and monthly performance reports for senior leadership, including management information.
- Liaise with awarding bodies, internal departments, and external partners to ensure compliance and smooth delivery of qualifications.
- Monitor prisoner progression, employment rates, and purposeful activity to ensure KPIs and targets are met.
- Provide general administrative support to the Education and Skills department, including record keeping, minute taking, and cover during staff absences.
Previous experience in an administrative role within a fast-paced or regulated environment is required. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and data systems is essential. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines are necessary. A confident user of Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong general IT skills, is expected. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders are important. The ability to work well under pressure, with an understanding of confidentiality and secure environments, is desirable.
Salary: 13,988.00 + LW 3,729.24 pro rata
Part-time: 18.75 hours per week
Working days: Monday to Wednesday
