As a Area Supervisor at CDC Hanley, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Portering and Domestic staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery and professional conduct at all times. The role focuses on monitoring performance, maintaining compliance with Trust and Sodexo policies and procedures, and supporting staff to meet required service standards.
Shift Details
Hours: 4 on / 4 off working pattern
Shift times: 16:00‑22:00 & 07:30‑17:30
Pay: £14.03 per hour
Blue Light Card: available
Holidays: statutory + additional
Location: CDC Hanley
What You’ll Do
- Manage staffing rosters across all service functions, ensuring adequate cover (including weekends) and service standards
- Oversee waste management and disposal operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and professional presentation
- Coordinate distribution runs and manage on‑site cage segregation in line with operational requirements
- Respond effectively to emergencies, major incidents, and unexpected service disruptions
- Lead, train, induct, and appraise staff, identifying training needs and maintaining high engagement levels
- Monitor attendance, manage payroll inputs, and conduct return‑to‑work interviews in line with policy
- Address performance, conduct, and behavioural issues in accordance with company procedures
- Build strong working relationships while ensuring compliance with management systems, health, safety, and welfare standards
What You’ll Bring
- Be flexible in their approach, willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to ensure patient care and CDC standards are maintained at all time
- Supervisory experience essential
- Ability to learn and use different IT systems
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and legislations
- Ability to work under pressure
- Be able to work as part of a team

- Understanding of confidentiality constraints and sensitivities
- Understanding of Customer Care
- Ability to listen and have good communication skills
