Location: Ysgol Gymunedol Penweddig, Llanbadarn Rd, Aberystwyth SY23 3QN
Days / Shift Pattern: Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only, 39.4 weeks)
Hours: 38 hours per week, daytime hours aligned with school meal services, with approx. 1 hour flexibility on start times
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 (equated) actual rate is advertised + excellent Sodexo benefits
Term Time: Yes (Term time only, 39.4 weeks working contract paid over 52 weeks + 4.8 weeks holiday pay)

About the Role
As Catering Manager you will oversee the daily catering operation within the school, ensuring high-quality food is prepared and served safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and serving food during break and lunchtime services
- Supporting additional catering requirements such as buffet-style meals for school events or third-party lettings
- Managing stock levels, ordering, and kitchen records
- Maintaining food safety standards and compliance with HACCP, allergen management, COSHH, and food hygiene regulations

What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a catering or kitchen management role
- A catering qualification is preferred
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team

- Experience managing stock, ordering, and maintaining kitchen records
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and meet service deadlines in a fast-paced environment

About The School
Ysgol Gyfun Gymunedol Penweddig is a Welsh-speaking school with approximately 600 pupils, ranging from 11 to 18 years old, supported by around 50 teaching staff. The school is easily accessible, situated on a regular bus route, and provides free on-site car parking for staff.
Lunch and morning break supervision is provided by school staff, with breakfast-type snacks available in the morning, and a full lunch service during your shift. The school operates a cashless card payment system, allowing parents to upload money onto their children's cards.
