The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Front of House Supervisor to join our team at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury SY3 7BA, one of the UK's most distinguished independent schools. Situated in the heart of Shrewsbury, this historic institution is renowned for its academic excellence, rich traditions, and vibrant student community. You will deliver a front to back first-class experience to all Shrewsbury School stakeholders, both internal and external to the clients.
Location: Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, West Midlands, SY3 7BA
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £13.94 per hour
Weekend on weekend off
What You’ll Be Doing
- Overseeing the front-of-house service across dining halls, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience.
- Leading, training, and motivating the front-of-house team to provide first-class service.
- Coordinating with the kitchen team to guarantee efficient meal service and accommodate special requests.
- Managing table settings, seating arrangements, and ensuring immaculate dining areas.
- Monitoring stock levels of front-of-house supplies, from tableware to linens.
- Liaising with Front of House Manager to clearly understand the needs of the business.
- Close and effective communication with the Head Chef and other senior chefs to deliver events.
- Providing direction and expertise to the operating area by promoting Shrewsbury School and Sodexo’s strategies and best practice to uphold both company missions and values.
- Assisting Hospitality Manager and Head Chef adhere to all food hygiene and health and safety standards, to ensure they are maintained to the required client and Sodexo expectations as outlined by the DMS (Document Management System) on SodexoNet.
People
- Support selection process, recruit and induct the right team.
- Keep open channels of communication with all stakeholders.
- Lead by example by role modelling the Sodexo Managerial Behaviours.
Client
- Ensure the FOH Team deliver the operation to the service standards agreed in the contract with the client.
- Identify events involving parents and governors and recognise the importance of these key customer groups.

- PC and software literate.
