Working through Universities by Sodexo, you will be responsible for ensuring the building, our students, visitors and your co-workers\\\’ safety in your role as Security Officer in Sodexo at Greenwich Campus.

What you’ll do
- Give the campuses of the University of Greenwich a security service that is customer-focused.
- Comply with Company, client and statutory regulations relating to Health and Safety, fire hygiene, COSHH and safe systems of work.
- To liaise with Sodexo and Client personnel as required and directed to guarantee the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
- Provide a first point of call for visitors and contractors to the site. Issue visitor/contractor badges whilst maintaining a record of those who enter and leave the main buildings.
- Answer questions, report incidents, and handle emergencies with employees, students, visitors, and contractors
- Open and secure the premises including the enabling and disabling of security alarms as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Patrolling, securing, and monitoring premises for any signs of unlawful/unwanted activity
- Monitor CCTV screens and take appropriate action as required
What you bring
- SIA Licence holder (Door supervisor and CCTV)
- 1 – 3 years experience within the security industry
- Have a sound knowledge of the Quality Management Systems (Security)
- Able to use computerised systems in operation within the security sector
- Good understanding of the CCTV, fire and security systems
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work on own initiative, individually and as part of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
- All employees are expected to adhere to Sodexo health and safety regulations and Equal opportunity regulations.
- To be able to write accurate, legible operational logs, security reports and statements.
