As a Kitchen Assistant at Sodexo Tunbridge Wells Nuffield Health, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, working behind the scenes to support our chefs and ensure every dish is served to the highest standard.
What you’ll do:
- Assist chefs in kitchen with food preparation & patient meals
- Assist with washing up & general cleaning duties
- Ensure hygienic cleaning of all crockery, cutlery, trays, and equipment used to maintain infection control standards
- Serve daily in the staff canteen – recording daily temperature checks & cleaning schedules
- Maintain stock control, rotation, and records at all times, assisting with deliveries
- Complete all legal, company, and client documentation within required timeframes
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the Catering Manager
- Communicate calmly, politely, and tactfully with customers at all times
- Recognise issues that may affect customer satisfaction and take appropriate action to resolve or elevate as necessary
- Follow all applicable policies and procedures, including Infection Prevention and Control
- Carry out duties safely, with minimal disruption to others
- Make full and proper use of any protective or safety equipment provided

- Basic food handling knowledge and hygiene awareness
- Willingness to learn new skills (e.g., food safety, health & hygiene)
- The ability to stay on your feet and work efficiently during busy service periods
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate
