Main Responsibilities
- To ensure the safe and secure storage of equipment and stock, including but not limited to furniture, catering equipment, cutlery, crockery, glassware and audio-visual equipment.
- To ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and appearance, with function suites and back of house areas cleared down following use and assisting with the cleaning of furniture and upholstery as required.
- Setting of all function suites and match day hospitality areas as per event sheet and providing all necessary mise-en-place in the most efficient and productive way setting as far ahead as is practicable.
- Review business event sheets thoroughly to ensure all functions are suitably prepared for, that any special requests such as dancefloors or AV equipment are met and any opportunities for enhanced customer service and sales are seized.
- Accept all deliveries in a safe and timely manner ensuring that all relevant paperwork is completed in line with company procedure.
- Ensure safe storage and transportation of all internal and external deliveries in line with company procedure.
- Assist in the polishing and preparation of cutlery, crockery and glassware as required in line with business demands.
- Assist with transportation and storage of cellar related deliveries as required in line with business demands.
- Ensure that all cleaning is conducted using the appropriate chemical agents and is only conducted by those that have been trained to complete these activities safely.
- Ensure that all corridors, working areas and fire exits are kept clear of all back of house equipment in accordance with all Sodexo fire related Health & Safety guidelines and Safe Systems of Work.
- Report any accidents, near misses and defective equipment upon discovery and in accordance with company policy ensuring that where possible hazardous situations are addressed immediately, or equipment is removed from circulation.
- Always ensure the security of all back of house and front of house areas by managing the security of keys, equipment and materials throughout the catering facility.
- To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner, in accordance with all Sodexo company policies including the need to wear all role and task specific PPE as required.
- To comply with all Sodexo personnel related company policies including but not limited to grooming and hygiene standards, social media policies and time keeping and attendance.
- To be flexible in your approach to working within all departments within the operation, always working to the best of your ability.
- To ensure that customer requirements and satisfaction are met throughout the day and good customer relations always prevail.
- To be aware constantly of amendments to events, accommodating changes as necessary.
- Promoting Sodexo and Newcastle United in a positive manner to the public at all times.
- Reporting all defects of equipment, damage to furnishings and any incidents involving theft or hazard to management and removing any broken equipment from circulation as necessary.
- Comply with all company Terms & Conditions including grooming and social media policies.
- Assisting within other departments as required, such as within functions during busy periods, and being equipped with the necessary uniform to do this.
- Ensuring strict adherence to manufacturer’s instructions regarding the use of chemical agents and their application.
- Comply fully with COSHH regulations.
- To be willing to assist/move to other areas of the business to further develop skills or meet the demands of the business.
- To ensure standards of hygiene within your working area and working practices conform to company standards.
- Ensure that property that is left is securely stored until such time as collected.
- To comply with all Sodexo personnel related company policies including grooming, social media policies and time keeping and attendance.

- Experience of working in a large operation with high volume meetings and events business.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, team members and guests essential.

- Experience working within a sports and leisure/stadia.
