Overview
Fabulous opportunity to join a global organisation with over 500,000 colleagues worldwide as a Motor Transport Driver and provide support to Armed Forces personnel at FMSP Portsmouth, PO1 4QT.
You will be responsible for operating a variety of vehicles, including passenger-carrying vehicles (coach/minibus), light goods vehicles (van/pick-up), and cars to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
What youβll do
- Ensure vehicles in use are fully compliant with the Road Traffic Act and DVSA requirements.
- Report and rectify any defects that may render a vehicle non-compliant.
- Complete all necessary task and reporting documentation in accordance with legal requirements and MoD/Sodexo operating procedures.
- Undertake overtime as required to meet business needs, including occasional overnight tasks.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition.
- Carry out routine transport office administration and other related Motor Transport duties as needed.
- Take on additional tasks as directed by Line Management, including providing support or cover for other staff when necessary.
- Promote and adhere to a safe working culture, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures, processes, and legislation.
What you bring
- Full clean UK driving license.
- PCV Category D driving licence (including Hire and Reward) with a minimum of 2 yearsβ driving experience.
- Driver CPC (DE) Qualification Card.
- Driver Digital Tachograph Card.
- Knowledge of Drivers Hours and Tachograph Regulations.
- Understanding and compliance with all aspects of Road Transport legislation.
- Demonstrable driving experience with basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good geographical knowledge and awareness.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Due to security requirements you must have been continuously resident in UK for last 3 years to apply for this position.
