Fulham Pier, set on the banks of the Thames beside Craven Cottage, is home to vibrant food markets, premium hospitality spaces and a luxury boutique hotel and spa. With a state-of-the-art culinary facility and a reputation for delivering exceptional dining experiences, we cater for high-profile events, matchdays and large-scale functions – delivering up to 25,000 covers per event. We are now looking for a passionate and driven Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic brigade. This is a key role supporting the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver seamless service, menu excellence and smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the delivery of consistently high-quality dishes in line with Fulham Pier’s standards
- Assisting with seasonal menu development and new recipe creation
- Overseeing a designated kitchen section to ensure smooth service and strong mise en place
- Supervising and mentoring junior chefs, providing guidance and feedback
- Assisting with task delegation and maintaining efficiency during busy service periods
- Monitoring stock, minimising waste and maintaining cost awareness
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
- Thriving during matchdays and large-scale events while maintaining quality and consistency
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Strong culinary skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident leading and motivating junior team members
- Calm under pressure with strong organisational skills
- Good knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred; Level 3 and IOSH advantageous)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and matchdays
