Salary hourly rate including RRP is £17.73 per hour that equates to £34,673 per annum. 1.5x rate (not guaranteed) optional overtime. 27 days holiday per year.

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with equivalency confirmed via a Statement of Comparability from ENIC where qualifications have been gained outside the UK.

We are seeking skilled and committed joiners to deliver comprehensive carpentry and joinery services across all wards, departments, and clinical spaces within this prestigious hospital. In this role, you will ensure strict compliance with Sodexo and Trust safety standards, providing essential maintenance and repairs in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.

What You'll Do:

  • Review labels on fire doors and provide maintenance if required.
  • Undertake manufacturing, assembly, erection, and installation of carpentry and joinery works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and current legislation, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance of structural and fabric components, including doors, windows, ceilings, floors, and locks, with minimal supervision across the site.
  • Maintain, repair, and install complex locking systems, including electronic, digital, and high security locks, ensuring functionality and security.
  • Work on a range of structural elements and fixtures, including fault finding, patch plastering, glazing, and refitting, to ensure the integrity and safety of estate infrastructure.
  • Adhere to safe systems of work, permits, and regulations during all carpentry and joinery tasks, including working out of hours and emergency situations.
  • Use own initiative and technical knowledge to design, quantify, and carry out joinery installations and repairs in compliance with current guidance and legislation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors to coordinate works, communicate effectively, and ensure successful completion of joinery projects and repairs.

What You Bring:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification required.
  • Fire Call Response inspection and Repair Qualification.
  • Experience in NHS and Healthcare Environment.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer-based Building Management Systems i.e. CAFM.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Able to work with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
