We are looking for a reliable and skilled General Maintenance Operative to support the delivery of high-quality technical services and ensure operational excellence. This is a key role responsible for maintaining client equipment, supporting safe working practices, and responding to technical issues as they arise. Join our team and play a key role in delivering excellence and innovation in Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services.
Responsibilities
- Respond to technical issues and support emergency escalation procedures, including out-of-hours when required.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and complete repairs within technical capability.
- Ensure all work is completed safely using approved systems such as RAMS and LOTO, and in line with company and industry standards.
- Assist with prioritising work orders and liaise with the Helpdesk and end users to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Carry out like-for-like replacements and minor installation works, while monitoring system performance and escalating issues where necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Report progress and highlight issues to the Senior Day Shift Technician.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time, materials, and relevant details.
- Complete required training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g. mechanical maintenance or water hygiene).
- G3 qualification desirable.
- Around 2 years of relevant experience in working in a similar facilities management environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of engineering compliance and best practice.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- IT skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance systems.
- Understanding of Helpdesk processes.
- Good communication skills.
