As a Hospitality Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing hospitality operations across the College. You’ll support the delivery of exceptional events, student dining, formal functions, and VIP hospitality experiences while leading and motivating a dedicated hospitality team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring every guest, client, student, and colleague receives a first‑class experience — from everyday service through to prestigious functions and large‑scale events. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality and food & beverage service across Wellington College
  • Supervise hospitality events, formal dinners, receptions, conferences, and special occasions
  • Ensure all functions are prepared, presented, and delivered to the highest possible standard
  • Liaise with clients before and after events to ensure expectations are exceeded
  • Monitor event standards continuously to maintain Sodexo and client expectations
  • Ensure all hospitality areas, service equipment, and hardware are clean, organised, and event‑ready
  • Assist with stock ordering, stock management, and drinks control
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, motivate, engage, and develop the hospitality team
  • Deliver pre‑event briefings and ensure teams are fully prepared for service
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative working culture
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members
  • Role model excellent supervisory behaviours and high service standards
Business Improvement
  • Constantly seek innovative and creative ways to improve service delivery
  • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Assist with hospitality administration including emails, function sheets, KX entries, and costings
  • Proactively solve problems and anticipate operational challenges before they arise
What you’ll Bring

We’re looking for an enthusiastic hospitality professional with strong people skills, leadership ability, and a genuine passion for premium service.

Essential:
  • Previous experience within hospitality, catering, events, or food service environments
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving hospitality operation
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergen management, COSHH, and HACCP procedures
  • Computer literate with confidence handling hospitality administration
  • Positive attitude with a proactive and solutions‑focused mindset
  • Flexibility to support business needs and occasional unsociable hours
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates
Desirable:
  • Experience supervising a hospitality or catering team
  • Experience within education or independent school environments
  • Knowledge of current hospitality and market trends
  • Hospitality or event management experience
  • Driving licence
