Food Service Assistant Opportunities at LVS Ascot, Berkshire.

We are currently recruiting for multiple Food Service Assistant positions to join our professional catering team at LVS Ascot in partnership with Sodexo. These are excellent opportunities for reliable, enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to become part of a busy and supportive catering operation within a prestigious independent school environment. Whether you are looking for full‑time weekday work or part‑time weekend shifts, we have a variety of roles available to suit different working patterns.

Available Positions

  • Monday to Friday Roles
    • Food Service Assistant – 40 hours per week (52 weeks per year) £12.71 per hour
    • Food Service Assistant – 39 hours per week (varied shift pattern) £12.71 per hour
    • Food Service Assistant – 35 hours per week £12.71 per hour
  • Sunday Roles
    • Food Service Assistant – Sunday Shift 8:30am – 2:30pm (£13.29 per hour)
    • 5:00pm – 7:30pm (£15.54 per hour after 17:00)

About the Role

At LVS Ascot, food service is an important part of the student experience. Our catering team takes pride in delivering high‑quality meals and excellent customer service within a welcoming and professional environment. As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a key frontline role supporting the preparation, presentation and service of meals to students, staff and visitors while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the preparation and service of fresh, high‑quality meals
  • Ensuring food is presented attractively and served to the correct standards
  • Assisting with basic food preparation and maintaining efficient kitchen operations
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene throughout service areas
  • Receiving deliveries, storing stock correctly and following stock rotation procedures
  • Providing a friendly, professional and approachable service to students, staff and visitors
  • Supporting hospitality events and school functions when required
  • Assisting with portion control and helping to minimise food waste
  • Working collaboratively with the wider catering team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Contributing ideas to enhance service standards and the dining experience

About You

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a team‑focused environment. You will ideally have:

  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
  • A flexible and reliable approach to work

  • Previous experience within catering, hospitality or food service is desirable, but not essential
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous, although training can be provided
