About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Technician who has a strong mechanical/HVAC expertise background to join our team! This role is ideally suited to a qualified plumber who has developed solid experience working with mechanical plant, HVAC systems, and building services. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all plumbing and mechanical systems across a busy production environment.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out planned, reactive, and corrective maintenance with a strong focus on plumbing systems and mechanical plant
  • Maintain and repair domestic and industrial water systems, including pumps, valves, pipework and drainage
  • Support the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, boilers, and associated mechanical equipment
  • Perform inspections and ensure compliance across water hygiene, HVAC, and life safety systems
  • Manage and close work orders using CAFM systems (Maximo), ensuring accurate reporting and record keeping
  • Respond to breakdowns and urgent maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with small installations, upgrades, and system modifications
  • Monitor plant performance and proactively identify faults or inefficiencies
  • Assist in general maintenance tasks, ensuring facilities are kept in good working order
  • Ensure strict adherence to health & safety procedures, particularly within a food production environment
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and site teams

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified plumber with experience in mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Proven experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale commercial environments
  • Strong knowledge of water systems, pipework, pumps, and fault finding
  • Hands-on experience supporting HVAC systems, boilers, and mechanical plant
  • Good understanding of compliance, particularly in regulated environments
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, handheld devices)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo
  • Familiarity with Irish building regulations and standards
  • Ability to identify maintenance improvements and cost-saving opportunities
