Role Overview
Reporting to the Business Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day front-of-house catering operation, leading a team of Ward Hosts to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to patients, visitors, and staff. You’ll be a visible presence across the hospital, ensuring smooth service delivery, maintaining standards, and supporting both ward and kitchen teams to deliver an outstanding hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the ward hospitality team, ensuring excellent service delivery
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of front‑of‑house operations
- Be visible across wards, supporting patients and staff and resolving any service issues
- Ensure all company policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently met
- Work closely with kitchen teams to ensure timely service and minimise waste
- Manage staff rotas, including planning cover for holidays and sickness
- Maintain stock control and ensure correct rotation procedures are followed
- Ensure all food meets required standards of quality and presentation
- Complete and maintain all required documentation and audit records
- Train, support, and develop team members
- Lead or attend team and client meetings as required
- Support ward service delivery where needed
- Report maintenance or operational issues promptly to management
- Carry out all reasonable requests in line with business needs
