As a Stores Porter at Sodexo, Royal Stoke Hospital, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth operation of stores and delivery services across the hospital. You will help ensure that all goods are received, stored, and distributed efficiently, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. Working closely with colleagues, suppliers, and catering teams, you will contribute to delivering a reliable service that supports patient care and hospital operations.
What you’ll do:
- Receive, check, and safely store all deliveries, ensuring accuracy of quantity and quality.
- Distribute stock and catering supplies to designated areas in line with schedules.
- Maintain stock levels, ensuring proper rotation and secure storage at all times.
- Process delivery notes and maintain accurate records in line with procedures.
- Operate store equipment and safely handle manual lifting and movement of goods.
- Keep all storage areas, equipment, and workspaces clean, hygienic, and compliant with standards.
- Assist with stock checks and report discrepancies, faults, or defects.
- Support ordering processes with approved suppliers.
- Ensure safe working practices, following all health, safety, and infection control policies.
- Interact professionally with colleagues, patients, contractors, and visitors.
- Provide guidance to new starters within your area when required.
