As a Food Service Assistant at Sodexo in Royal Stoke Hospital, you’ll play an important part in preparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patient recovery and wellbeing. What you’ll do:
- Prepare and serve hospitality orders across the hospital, including items such as sandwiches, bacon and sausage baps, salads, and tea and coffee.
- Ensure all hospitality requests are prepared accurately according to orders and delivered on time.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety in line with hospital and health regulations.
- Monitor and order stock as required to ensure sufficient supplies for hospitality services.
- Support the wider catering team with food preparation and general kitchen duties, serving on the servery and till when needed.
- Deliver hospitality items to different departments across the hospital using a company vehicle when required.
- Provide a friendly and professional service to staff and visitors while maintaining a well-organised hospitality area.
Applicants should ideally be 25 or over for insurance purposes to drive the company vehicle and assist with deliveries across the site.
What you bring:
- Previous experience in food preparation and service, ideally within a fast-paced, customer-facing catering or retail environment.
- Level 2 Food Safety certificate preferred, with a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, clients and staff at all levels.
- Strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure while remaining self-motivated and positive about learning.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and hold a full manual driving licence to support deliveries using a company vehicle.
