We are currently recruiting for a Catering Supervisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with catering experience who enjoys leading a small team, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards in food service operations. As a Catering Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a small team of catering operatives and ensuring the delivery of a high standard of food service in line with client specifications. You will support the Catering Manager, ensure the wellbeing of your team, and provide customers with a friendly and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small team of catering operatives
- Ensure customers receive a friendly and high-quality service
- Manage cash handling, banking, and stocktakes
- Become proficient in systems such as E-ProphIT, POS, and BITE
- Support the Catering Manager in achieving KPIs and service level agreements
- Ensure all company and client policies and procedures are followed
- Deliver staff briefings and support team training
- Monitor catering operations to ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Manage ordering and distribution of catering consumables
- Conduct service and compliance audits as required
- Maintain risk assessments and allergy documentation
- Manage vending operations and support promotions to increase sales
- Stand in for the Catering Manager when required
What You’ll Need
Essential
- Previous catering experience
- Experience undertaking general catering duties
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Computer literate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of relevant catering and food safety legislation
Desirable
- Previous supervisory experience
- NVQ or apprenticeship in catering or hospitality
- Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete company training)
