Job Title: Food Service Assistant
Location: Royston
Contract: Permanent - Part Time 20 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 11:00am to 3:00pm
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour
About the role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our Sodexo team at the Johnson Matthey site in Royston.
This is a varied catering role where you will help deliver a high-quality food service to employees and guests. You'll be part of a supportive team and will play an important role in ensuring our food service areas are welcoming, well-presented and operated to high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly, professional food service to employees and guests
- Prepare and serve food, including salads and hot and cold desserts
- Maintain clean, safe and well-presented kitchen and service areas
- Follow food safety, allergen, hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH procedures
- Complete temperature checks, allergen records and other food safety documentation
- Assist with stock management and stocktakes
- Support the wider catering team during busy periods and as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within catering, hospitality or food service
- A customer-focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures
- The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the catering operation
