We’re looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our team.

You’ll support the delivery of high-quality catering services, helping with food preparation, service, till operation and maintaining clean, safe and welcoming catering areas. You’ll play an important role in providing an excellent experience for our customers while ensuring food hygiene and service standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook and serve food in line with recipes and daily menus.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Operate the till accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene, personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure food is stored, prepared and served at the correct temperatures.
  • Maintain correct portion control and high standards of food presentation.
  • Keep catering and service areas clean, tidy and well stocked.
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including security requirements.
  • Monitor stock, supplies, waste and equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Follow company, client and legislative food safety and health & safety requirements.
  • Attend team meetings, briefings and required training.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, colleagues and the client.

What You’ll Need:

  • Friendly, approachable and customer-focused.
  • Reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a busy catering environment.
  • Able to follow recipes, procedures and food safety standards.
  • Confident handling a till and cash accurately.
  • Organised, efficient and able to maintain high standards.
  • Committed to cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills.
  • Flexible and happy to support the wider catering team when required.

Previous experience in catering, hospitality or customer service would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
