We’re now looking for an experienced and people-focused North West Staffing Manager to lead our casual workforce across Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End, ensuring our teams are trained, engaged and ready to deliver exceptional hospitality on matchdays and at events. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love building strong teams, and want to play a pivotal role behind the scenes of elite sporting venues, this could be the role for you.
As Northwest Staffing Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the end-to-end staffing lifecycle for our casual catering teams; from attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, training, scheduling and payroll. You’ll work closely with our Centre of Excellence, site Heads of Department, and operational teams to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time, every time. This will suit a confident, organised and proactive people professional with experience in high-volume or event-led environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the recruitment, selection and onboarding of casual catering employees for matchdays and meetings & events
- Coordinate, book and confirm all casual staffing rotas and shift allocations
- Manage staffing administration including training records, payroll submissions and compliance documentation
- Create and deliver a Northwest training programme, championing learning, development and service excellence
- Support HODs with site-based training and workforce planning
- Manage matchday and event staff check-in, arrivals and last-minute changes
- Monitor labour costs, produce accurate forecasts, and report actual spend vs budget
- Drive staff retention, reducing agency reliance while maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Promote Sodexo Live! as an employer of choice across the region
What You Bring:
- Experience in a staffing, resourcing or people operations role (essential)
- Background in events, hospitality or large-scale venues
- Confidence delivering training sessions and presentations to groups
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- A passion for service excellence and employee engagement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Confidence using MS Office, particularly Excel
- Flexibility to work around matchdays, events and peak operational periods
