About the role

At Sodexo we know how important our family of administrators are – keeping our site running smoothly for our guests and colleagues. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Front of House Operative to join our prestigious team at Cochrane Park.

There’ll be company procedures to follow alongside our Health & Safety practices so it’s vital that you’ll champion this.

What you'll do

  • Ensure guest requirements and satisfaction are met with the highest level of service throughout the day.
  • Maintain a guest-focused approach, delivering excellent service at all times.
  • Be prepared and informed for guest requirements during service to provide the highest standard of service.
  • Have good knowledge of dishes being serviced and be able to respond appropriately to dietary or allergen queries.
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with company standards.
  • Set up dining and service areas before meal periods, including tables, chairs, and condiment stations.
  • Monitor stock levels of consumables such as napkins, condiments, and disposable items, replenishing as needed.
  • Maintain positive and professional relations with all players, visitors, and staff across departments.
  • Promote Sodexo and Newcastle United positively to the public.
  • Prepare service areas and complete all meal preparatory work in a timely manner.
  • Service all meals promptly, minimising disruption to guests.
  • Refresh and maintain front-of-house areas continuously.
  • Use quiet periods to prepare for the following day.
  • Assist with basic food preparation and plating as directed by kitchen supervisors.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen machinery and equipment in accordance with manufacturers guidance, reporting any faults or maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain clear and organised storage areas to facilitate front-of-house and kitchen workflow.
  • Support unloading, storage, and organisation of food deliveries.
  • Assist in stock rotation to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
  • Ensure safe and secure storage of equipment, stock, and catering materials.
  • Assist other departments flexibly to meet business demands and develop skills.
  • Complete any reasonable requests from Senior Managers and adapt to changes as required.

What you'll bring

  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

  • Desirable: Previous experience working in a sports catering or high-performance environment.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and nutritional considerations specific to athletes.
  • First Aid or Food Safety certification.
