We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of statutory, legislative and mandatory mechanical maintenance across a client site.
You will be responsible for completing planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, as well as supporting minor new works as required, while working safely and in line with engineering standards and procedures.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
- Support statutory, legislative and mandatory maintenance requirements.
- Complete minor mechanical works as directed.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical maintenance issues using a systematic approach.
- Work independently while managing and prioritising your workload to meet deadlines.
- Follow safe systems of work, health and safety procedures and engineering standards.
- Respond to helpdesk requests and complete work within required timescales.
- Maintain accurate records using relevant IT and maintenance management systems.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and the wider maintenance team.
What you bring:
- Around 2 years' relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Practical mechanical skills and knowledge of engineering compliance and standards.
- Experience working independently in a technical maintenance environment.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Ability to self-manage, plan workloads and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Understanding of helpdesk procedures and workflow requirements.
