What you’ll do:
  • Monitoring and managing the Hive system to ensure timely completion of all portering jobs
  • Allocating work and responsibilities to portering staff, ensuring proper use and return of handheld devices
  • Coordinating staff training, including moving and handling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Managing staff scheduling, including annual leave, sickness absence, and conducting performance appraisals
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare and support staff to resolve issues and coordinate portering services
  • Ensuring all portering duties are performed in line with Trust policies, including incident reporting and compliance
  • Providing emergency response coordination during incidents such as cardiac arrests, fires, and other critical situations
What you bring:
  • Good communication skills to enable communication with colleagues, patients and clients regarding on job duties
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good level of customer care
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment (desirable)
  • Good understanding of health and safety and manual handling practices
  • Ability to respond constructively and professionally to unpredictable situations
  • Attend mandatory induction and health and safety related training and all other required training
