Job Introduction
Join the dedicated catering supervisory team at Manchester Foundation Trust Hospital, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional food services across our hospital wards and back of house operations. As a key leader, you will oversee and ensure that our catering team consistently provides high quality, patient centred food services that meet stringent contractual standards and exceed expectations. Your expertise will drive excellence in food safety, service standards, and operational efficiency, contributing to the overall patient experience and staff satisfaction. What You'll Do:
- Supervise and coordinate catering staff to deliver high quality catering services, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor daily catering operations, including temperature checks, record keeping, and adherence to HACCP regulations.
- Manage staff duties, allocate responsibilities, and facilitate ongoing training to ensure a skilled and compliant team.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, report maintenance issues, and ensure safety standards are met across all catering areas.
- Ensure staff adhere to PPE, uniform policies, and infection control protocols, including hand hygiene and confidentiality.
- Handle staff sickness absence, conduct return to work interviews, and manage annual leave requests.
- Support health and safety procedures, accident reporting, and escalated incidents or non compliance issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer care, communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and visitors, and promote a professional image.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills in stock control, ordering, and planning work schedules to ensure efficient service delivery.
What You Bring:
- Good communication skills to enable communication with colleagues, patients and clients regarding on job duties.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good level of customer care.
- Experience of working in a catering environment (desirable).
- Good understanding of health and safety and manual handling practices.
