Sodexo is looking for an experienced SHE Manager to join our Corporate Services team, supporting a high-profile pharmaceutical flagship account based in Macclesfield, with regular travel to our Speke site.

This is a key multi-site HSE leadership position, supporting complex corporate, production and laboratory environments where high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are essential.

You will take a leading role in driving the HSE strategy across both locations, working closely with Sodexo teams, the client and wider operational stakeholders to maintain compliance, strengthen safety culture and deliver continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional who is confident working strategically, influencing stakeholders and operating within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities:

You will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of HSE strategies, plans and objectives across both sites.
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation, Sodexo policies, client requirements and relevant industry standards.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain HSE plans, risk registers and action plans.
  • Plan and oversee HSE audit programmes and ensure actions are effectively closed out.
  • Monitor HSE performance through KPI and OPI reporting, identifying trends, successes and areas for improvement.
  • Deliver and support HSE training, promoting a strong and proactive safety culture.
  • Provide expert HSE guidance to operational, compliance and client teams.
  • Work closely with Sodexo's Corporate Services HSE & Risk Team and the client's SHE organisation.
  • Support Business Continuity Planning and wider continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Operations Director at relevant performance and safety meetings.
  • Lead, support and develop the SHE Advisor.
  • Act as an ambassador for Sodexo HSE standards and promote current industry best practice.

What we're looking for:

You will be an experienced SHE professional with the confidence and credibility to operate across a complex, multi-site environment.

Essential:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification, such as Chartered IOSH.
  • Recent experience in a senior HSE/Health & Safety role.
  • Experience working across multiple sites or within a complex operational environment.
  • Strong experience in auditing, compliance and HSE investigations.
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging HSE training.
  • Experience developing HSE strategies, plans and performance reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience within Integrated Facilities Management.
    • Experience within pharmaceutical, laboratory, manufacturing or another highly regulated environment.
    • Professional HSE body membership.
    • Experience of project or programme management.
