Job Introduction: Join Sodexo as a Cook at our Victoria House, 31 Normanby Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 6AS site. In this essential lone-working role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for the residents and staff in a fixed location, ensuring safe, nutritious, and welcoming environments. You’ll be in charge of all aspects of food production at the site, working independently to deliver meals that meet the needs of the residents. Approved Premises play a key role in supporting individuals released from prison, offering enhanced supervision and rehabilitation within the community. This role offers valuable experience working in a residential setting with individuals facing complex challenges.
What you’ll do:
- Independently prepare and cook a variety of meals according to scheduled menus for residents and staff.
- Manage your own schedule and kitchen operations, ensuring meals are prepared and served on time with minimal supervision.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, including the kitchen and dining spaces.
- Restock essential kitchen supplies like ingredients, utensils, and cleaning products.
- Communicate with site staff and other departments as needed, providing updates and ensuring smooth operations.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance while working alone.
What you bring:
- Previous experience in a cooking or catering role is essential, along with a reasonable knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
