Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our Sodexo team at Whitton Clinic Ipswich. In this vital role, you’ll help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your work will directly support health and wellbeing throughout the hospital. What you’ll do:

• Carry out daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with national cleaning specifications.
• Complete discharge, deep-clean, and infection-control cleaning tasks as required.
• Follow cleaning schedules, complete documentation, and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations.
• Report faulty equipment, hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly.
• Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment, and stock levels are maintained and organised.
• Remove and dispose of general and clinical waste correctly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a safe and welcoming environment.
• Follow all health & safety, safeguarding, infection prevention, and confidentiality requirements.

What you bring:

• Previous cleaning experience.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, COSHH, and Health & Safety practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
• A positive, reliable, and professional approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/5 or equivalent).
