Job Introduction
Bring precision, pace, and purpose to one of the UK’s most iconic venues. At Sodexo Live! we’re looking for a Goods In & Stock Controller to take ownership of all beverage stock coming onsite at Ascot Racecourse, supporting both day-to-day operations and major event delivery. This is a newly created role where you’ll plan and coordinate deliveries, maintain clear visibility of stock across multiple cellars, and ensure every item is checked, protected, stored correctly, and issued to the right outlet at the right time. If you enjoy a hands‑on operational environment but thrive on the detail behind the scenes, you’ll love this role. You’ll work closely with the Head of Beverage and have a key link into Finance, using strong admin skills and confident Excel capability to keep stock data accurate, reconciled, and fully controlled helping safeguard assets, reduce wastage, and support commercial performance across the department.
What You'll Do
- Manage all beverage and consumable deliveries, ensuring quantities, product codes and quality are checked, receipted and recorded accurately on the stock system.
- Maintain secure, organised storage across cellars, ensuring correct rotation (FIFO/date life) to minimise wastage and protect stock.
- Plan, coordinate and execute stock distribution and transfers to Retail, Fine Dining and Hospitality outlets in line with PAR levels and event requirements.
- Produce regular goods‑in, stockholding and reconciliation reports, supporting Finance and senior stakeholders with accurate stock data and documentation.
- Support monthly and event-based variance reporting, cash‑to‑stock reconciliation, and the tracking of supplier shortages/credits to resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, manual handling and security controls, maintaining a safe and professional cellar environment (including hygiene standards).
What You Bring
- Previous experience in goods‑in, stock control, or warehouse/cellar operations (hospitality or retail).
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and stock control systems.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliation.
- Knowledge of beverage products (wines, spirits, beers, and softs) preferred.
- Forklift licence (desirable).
- Strong organisational and teamwork skills, able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clean driving licence (preferred).
