We're currently looking for a Night Security Officer to join our dedicated team at Trinity Square Student Accommodation. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced security professional who is passionate about customer service, enjoys working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, and is committed to creating a safe and positive experience for students.
As a Night Security Officer, you'll be at the heart of the student experience, providing professional out-of-hours support and ensuring the site remains safe, secure and welcoming 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We're seeking a professional, approachable and resilient individual who can combine strong security experience with outstanding customer service skills. What you’ll do:
- Providing exceptional customer service to students, visitors, contractors and university stakeholders
- Responding effectively to incidents, emergencies and welfare concerns
- Managing fire alarms, security incidents, medical emergencies and anti-social behaviour situations
- Conducting site patrols using RFID technology and identifying any potential risks or maintenance issues
- Monitoring CCTV systems and access control procedures
- Supporting student wellbeing by offering assistance and escalating concerns appropriately
- Completing accurate incident reports and maintaining compliance records
- Managing parcel deliveries and collections through the Parcel Tracker system
- Supporting the on-site café operation when required
- Carrying out caretaking duties to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment
- Assisting with winter maintenance activities, including gritting and snow clearance
- Undertaking basic maintenance and compliance checks across the accommodation site
- Building positive relationships with students from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
What you bring:
- Valid SIA Door Supervision or Manned Guarding Licence
- Current First Aid at Work Certificate
- Minimum of 2 years' frontline security experience
- Experience working with young adults aged 17–25
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service
- Ability to engage positively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Experience managing challenging, sensitive or high-pressure situations
- Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to changing demands
Desirable Experience:
- SIA CCTV Licence
- Student accommodation, education or university environment experience
- Experience investigating incidents and producing detailed reports
- Facilities, residence life or accommodation support experience
