About the role:

As a Cook in a café or digital food operation, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and cooking pre-ordered meals, ensuring consistency, presentation, and food safety standards are met. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations while supporting a modern, technology-driven service model.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of food items in line with recipe cards and cooking methods.
  • Manage and fulfil all orders.
  • Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately to meet service time targets.
  • Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients, and ensure proper storage following food safety regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP procedures.
  • Minimise food waste and control portion sizes to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Assist with deliveries, checking quality and storing stock correctly.
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance issues promptly.

What we’re looking for:

Essential:

  • Experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
  • One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): BSc (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ Level 2 or 3.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a military environment.
  • IOSH qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • CIEH Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
