The Scottish Parliament is looking for a proactive Facilities Support Operative to join our team and help keep the parliamentary estate running smoothly.
Based in the heart of Edinburgh, this varied role provides essential portering and facilities support across the Parliament.
You'll work alongside parliamentary staff, MSPs, their teams, journalists, contractors, guests and visitors, ensuring equipment, resources and facilities are delivered safely, efficiently and professionally.
Your work will play a key role in creating a welcoming and well-supported environment for everyone who works at and visits the Parliament.
What you'll do
- Set up meeting rooms, events and workspaces, including moving furniture and equipment.
- Safely deliver and relocate furniture, equipment, mail and other items across the parliamentary estate.
- Carry out basic checks on office and IT equipment, including replacing toner and replenishing supplies.
- Support events, exhibitions and office moves, including deliveries, storage and setup requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff, visitors and contractors with a helpful and professional approach.
- Follow health and safety procedures and support the team with other reasonable duties as required.
What you'll bring
- A positive, flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.
- Good physical fitness and confidence carrying out manual handling tasks (with reasonable adjustments considered where required).
- A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable.
- Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend requirements when needed.
