Join Sodexo as a Casual Events Staff member in Edinburgh and be part of the team delivering exceptional experiences at some of the city’s most exciting events and venues.

You’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of events, providing excellent customer service and helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests. From assisting with event set-up and guest service to supporting food and beverage operations, you’ll be part of a friendly and professional team where no two shifts are the same.

As a casual team member, you’ll have the flexibility to work around your availability while gaining valuable experience across a variety of events. What you’ll do:

  • Welcome and greet clients and guests warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and positive first impression.
  • Follow all company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations to ensure a safe, compliant and professional environment.
  • Serve food and beverages to a high standard, providing excellent customer service and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of events, including preparing and clearing equipment, furniture and service areas.
  • Maintain a positive, professional and customer-focused approach while working efficiently in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and respond to the direction of supervisors and managers to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the supervisor or manager.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, events or customer service is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
  • A friendly, approachable and customer-focused attitude with a genuine desire to provide excellent service.
  • Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work a variety of shifts around event schedules.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • A professional attitude, good communication skills and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
