Salary: up to £36,000, with excellent Sodexo and Parking benefits
Total Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
Days/Shift Pattern: Monday- Sunday
Working Hours: 10.00am - 6.30pm / 7am - 3.30pm

Are you a passionate and experienced Catering Manager ready to lead a dynamic kitchen team in a prestigious educational setting? We’re seeking a talented Deputy Catering Manager who'll assist the General Manager to supervise and control the Catering services and to provide a service for the client according to his/her specification within the standards laid down in the service agreement.
Sodexo and our clients are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults within a regulated activity. This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
What you’ll do:
- Train; create awareness and safety measures to reduce the rate of accidents.
- Develop; self and others to maximize optimum efficiency.
- Food Standards: Be present, observe and implement required Standards to client’s satisfaction.
- Effectively communicate with both front and back of house to enhance food and service standards.
- Take full responsibility for Health and Safety, Risk assessments, HACCP and Staff training.
- Manage Payroll systems, ensuring justification for ad hoc services.
- Carry out Administration duties in preparation of closing books. Entering invoices, stocks, stock takes, recording sales on EprophIT.
- Ensure all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regard to customer’s special dietary requirements.
- Accepting full responsibility for the service and to be responsible for all Hospitality related activities, production service and clear down.
- Deputise in the Catering Managers absence (covering sickness and holidays).
What you bring:
- Proven experience in as a Catering manager or management role within the Catering industry.
- Adaptable, flexible, and resilient, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong people management skills, including recruitment, training, performance management, and handling disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining standards.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, develop opportunities, and implement innovative solutions.
- Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff.
- Good time management and organisation skills.
- Good Standards of literacy and numeracy.
