Heritage Portfolio is looking for a passionate, commercially minded and people-focused Head of Events to lead our events operations across a prestigious venue portfolio in the East of Scotland. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, knows how to build brilliant teams, and has the commercial confidence to deliver outstanding client partnerships, memorable guest experiences and strong financial performance.
As Head of Events, you will lead, develop and inspire teams across our venue cluster, ensuring every event is delivered safely, consistently and to the highest standard. You will work closely with clients to understand their ambitions, identify opportunities for growth, and create venue-specific strategies that strengthen partnerships and support long-term success. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality leader who is creative, resilient and always looking for ways to improve — someone who shares our belief in “Never Standing Still.”
What You'll Do
- Leading, developing and motivating management teams across operations, culinary, coordination and finance.
- Building strong, trusted relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for contract growth and retention.
- Driving consistent, high-quality event delivery across the venue cluster.
- Managing multi-site financial performance, including P&L, forecasting, analysis and cost control.
- Identifying efficiencies and revenue growth opportunities across the portfolio.
- Supporting creative, innovative food and beverage propositions that enhance the customer experience.
- Championing a zero-harm culture and ensuring compliance with food safety, health, safety and hygiene standards.
- Recruiting, training and developing team members in line with business needs and individual development plans.
- Supporting talent, succession planning, engagement and retention across your teams.
- Continuously improving ways of working, systems and processes to deliver operational excellence.
What You Bring
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a team in the hospitality industry.
- Strong commercial background with responsibility for managing multisite P&L.
- A passionate interest in the catering industry – knowledge of current trends and interest in the hospitality world.
- Demonstrable experience in a high-volume hospitality and retail catering environment.
- A competent communicator and ability to present to colleagues, peers and clients.
- Evidence of being organised and possess excellent planning skills.
- Ability to competently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email.
- Proven record of managing a team encompassing operations, culinary, coordination and finance.
- Ability to motivate a team of mixed abilities and personalities.
Desirable
- Experience of event costing, event design or large-scale event planning.
- Experience supporting sales and marketing plans.
- The ability to identify and maximise revenue opportunities.
- Experience training and developing teams.
- First aid or personal licence qualifications.
- A highly polished, professional and dependable approach.
- The ability to produce accurate work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
