Support safe, secure and efficient custodial operations. We are seeking a reliable and detail‑focused Custody Administrator Assistant to join the Custody Administration Team at HMP Forest Bank. This role plays a key part in supporting the day‑to‑day running of the prison by delivering high‑quality administrative services to custodial and operational teams. Working as part of a busy, multi‑tasked environment, you will help ensure resident records are accurately maintained, securely stored, and managed in line with information governance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Providing general administrative support, including preparation and maintenance of files
- Managing filing systems, archiving, retention and secure destruction of resident records
- Handling telephone, face‑to‑face and written enquiries professionally
- Managing incoming post and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting the wider administration team with ad‑hoc duties as required
About you
You will have strong administrative experience, sound IT skills (particularly Microsoft Word and Excel), and a good eye for detail. Organised and calm under pressure, you’ll communicate effectively, handle sensitive information with discretion, and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy, professionalism and personal development.
