Job Introduction
We're looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our Sodexo team at Homerton University Hospital. In this vital role, you'll help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. Your work will directly support patient care and the overall hospital experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the site.

What you'll do:
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal and replenishing supplies.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with national cleaning specifications and hospital procedures.
- Complete discharge, deep-clean and infection prevention cleaning tasks as required.
- Follow cleaning schedules, complete relevant documentation and ensure compliance with all procedures.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations.
- Report faulty equipment, hazards, accidents and incidents promptly.
- Ensure cleaning cupboards, equipment and stock levels are maintained and organised.
- Remove and dispose of general and clinical waste in line with site procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a safe and welcoming healthcare environment.
- Follow all Health & Safety, infection prevention, safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
What you bring:
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a healthcare or customer-focused environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, COSHH and Health & Safety practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- A positive, reliable and professional approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
