We’re looking for a passionate and creative Chef to take the reins at our vibrant Café Portrait service counter and adjoining table-service space, The Nook. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and takes pride in delivering fresh, high-quality food with flair.
About the Role
You will work along with the lead chef across two connected concepts:
- Busy city centre café/restaurant served from a scratch kitchen - home‑made soups, filled rolls, daily mains, and vibrant salads
- The Nook, our relaxed table-service space offering a carefully crafted lunch menu

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the production of soups, artisan filled rolls, hearty mains, and vibrant salads
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste in every dish
- Manage kitchen operations, stock control, food waste, and food safety standards
- Work closely with a lead chef and front-of-house staff and particularly the café manager to create a seamless customer experience

- Proven experience as a chef in a café, bistro, or similar environment
- Strong skills in fresh food preparation and menu development
- A passion for simple, high-quality ingredients and creative presentation
- Excellent organisational abilities
