We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Chef to join our team at Shell Bacton Gas Terminal. Working as part of Sodexo's catering team, you will help deliver a high-quality food service while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering outstanding service, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of hot and cold meals to a high standard.
- Support the setup and serving of food service counters and stations.
- Ensure food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly regarding special dietary requirements and allergens.
- Organise and support special catering functions and events as required.
- Check, receive, and store deliveries correctly.
- Support stock control procedures and ordering requirements.
- Monitor catering operations to ensure services run efficiently and effectively.
- Operate tills and process customer transactions accurately.
- Interact with customers professionally, delivering Sodexo's high standards of service.
- Maintain exceptional cleaning and hygiene standards throughout all catering areas.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and legislative requirements.
- Safely operate, maintain, and safeguard catering equipment and appliances.
- Ensure work areas remain clean, organised, and safe at all times.
- Wear and maintain issued uniform, PPE, and equipment in good condition.
- Work closely with the Chef Manager to support the overall catering operation.
- Participate in all required training and development activities.
