As an Electrical Engineer at HMP Northumberland, you will play a vital role in maintaining the prison's essential infrastructure, directly contributing to the safety, security, and operational efficiency of the establishment. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect, test, fault‑find, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete all work to relevant trade standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Identify and report defective or unsafe equipment.
- Support other FM trades and escort specialist contractors when required.
- Participate in the on‑call rota and respond to emergency call‑outs.

Essential
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.
- Relevant electrical qualification (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent).
- IET/IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
