Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff, following planned menus.
  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, managing your workload independently and ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Monitor and replenish kitchen stock, ensuring ingredients, equipment, and cleaning supplies are always available.
  • Build positive working relationships with on-site colleagues, communicating effectively to ensure the smooth running of the service.
  • Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures, working confidently and responsibly in a lone-working environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential, with a good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen procedures.
  • Confident working independently, with the ability to manage your time, prioritise tasks, and keep the kitchen running smoothly.
