As an International Data Acquisition Specialist at Socure, you will play a key role in expanding and managing our international data assets to support Socure’s identity verification, fraud prevention, and compliance products. This role is focused on sourcing, evaluating, onboarding, and managing third-party data providers across international markets, with particular attention to data quality, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Senior Data Acquisition Manager, you will work closely with Product, Data Science, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and external data partners to identify and operationalise data sources that improve product performance, expand geographic coverage, and support Socure’s international growth priorities. This role is especially important as Socure continues to invest in international products and in-region capabilities, including EU, UK, and LATAM support and broader international data acquisition needs.

What You'll Do

  • Vendor and Data Management: Support the evaluation, onboarding, and ongoing management of third-party data vendors across multiple international markets and product lines, ensuring alignment with business priorities and product needs. Assist in preparing RFIs, RFPs, diligence materials, and vendor assessments to evaluate provider capabilities, data quality, compliance posture, operational fit, and commercial value. Maintain clear and auditable documentation of purchased data, vendor status, usage rights, contractual constraints, and performance tracking across the data acquisition lifecycle. Help manage renewals and support discovery of new vendors that improve product quality, coverage, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Internationalization Strategy Support: Research and evaluate new international data sources that align with Socure’s strategic priorities, especially for identity verification, fraud prevention, KYC/eKYC, Document Verification and Compliance-related use cases. Develop a strong understanding of Socure products and international use cases in order to assess the relevance, incremental value, and risks of potential data sources. Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Procurement to align on priorities, support integration planning, and ensure new data sources can be operationalised effectively. Contribute to data acquisition efforts that improve inclusivity, market coverage, and fairness in identity verification outcomes across diverse populations and geographies. Participate in cross-functional meetings as a representative of the Data Acquisition team, communicating findings, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Quality and Integration: Assist in due diligence on prospective data sources, including data quality assessments, overlap and coverage analysis, compliance review, and performance testing. Support structured evaluations and proof-of-concept testing for new vendors and datasets, using evidence-based methods to determine business value and product impact. Monitor and report on data quality metrics, vendor performance, feed reliability, and emerging issues such as drift, schema changes, or outages, and help coordinate remediation as needed. Work with internal technical teams to support integration planning, including understanding schemas, APIs, delivery models, and operational dependencies for new feeds.
  • Operational Excellence: Own day-to-day operational activities across the international data acquisition lifecycle, including vendor communications, issue resolution, documentation management, and follow-through on action items. Track and document cost, usage, and value metrics for acquired datasets to support budgeting, renewals, prioritisation, and vendor decisions. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve evaluation frameworks, and scale the team’s operating model as international data needs continue to expand.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field such as Business, Data, Analytics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 4–8 years of experience in data acquisition, vendor management, procurement, partnerships, data operations, or a related field.
  • Experience evaluating or managing third-party data providers, ideally across multiple markets or jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess data quality, business value, and operational trade-offs.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and privacy frameworks impacting data acquisition and usage, including UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and other relevant data protection or regulated-data considerations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with experience maintaining structured documentation, evaluation records, and vendor tracking processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with data vendors in identity verification, fraud prevention, financial services, regtech, or compliance-related markets.
  • Familiarity with international identity, KYC/eKYC, or watchlist-related data ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of international data landscapes, including source categories such as government, credit bureau, mobile network, utility, and electoral or similar sources used in different countries.
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts, including APIs, batch delivery methods, schemas, and operationalisation of external data feeds.
  • Experience using SQL or similar tools to support data analysis, profiling, or evaluation work.
  • Experience working with UK and European market data providers or supporting products used in UK and broader international markets.
